THE CLIENT
The mission of Memphis in May International Festival is to promote and celebrate Memphis culture, foster economic growth and enhance international awareness through education. The nonprofit organization hosts some of our city’s largest, most celebrated annual events, including the Beale Street Music Festival, World Championship Barbecue Cooking contest, 901Fest and the Great American River Run. Additionally, Memphis in May honors a different country every year by highlighting its history, food and culture through a diverse series of programs.
THE CHALLENGE
When the team at MIM approached RocketFuel to redesign their website, we knew fitting such a wide variety of programs and events into one streamlined experience wasn’t going to be easy, but we were excited to tackle this challenge and find a creative solution.
BRINGING THE WORLD TO MEMPHIS AND MEMPHIS TO THE WORLD
Working in close partnership with MIM, the RocketFuel team produced an eye-catching, user-friendly space where people can find all the latest information on their favorite events, dive into Memphis history and learn more about the world beyond. During the month of May, the organization sells many different types of festival memorabilia, so we made the process a snap by seamlessly integrating Shopify.
AMPLIFYING THE MESSAGE
A good website is easy on the eyes and easy to navigate. A great website achieves these goals while also expanding its online footprint in a meaningful way. Using a combination of smart, responsive design and thoughtful search engine optimization, we helped MIM turn up the volume on user engagement where it counts — on mobile and across our region.
